PCB Capability Check: Can We Build Your Board?
Select ten parameters and see in seconds whether your board is a standard build, needs engineering review, or falls outside our published PCB manufacturing capabilities.
Your check result is attached to the message automatically. Prefer email? Use our contact page.
How the Check Works
Each parameter is compared with the limits in our PCB manufacturing capability table. The result is the most demanding of the ten.
- Standard: every parameter sits inside our regular range. We quote it routinely, within 2 hours.
- Engineering review: the board is inside our limits but at least one parameter is near the edge, or the board type needs material and stack-up review (rigid-flex, RF, ceramic, BT).
- Outside our published limits: at least one parameter is beyond what we publish.
What Each Parameter Means
Layer count
Standard builds go up to 24 layers. Advanced builds go up to 100 layers and are confirmed case by case for production. Some board types have their own range: HDI 4–32 layers, flex 1–8, rigid-flex 4–20, BT 2–16.
Board thickness and drill size
We build 0.15–10.0 mm boards. The smallest mechanical drill is 0.10 mm, and the drill-to-thickness aspect ratio goes up to 20:1, so a thick board with small vias is reviewed together.
Copper weight and line / space
Outer copper goes up to 28 oz and inner copper up to 12 oz. Finest line/space is 3/3 mil (75 µm) on regular copper, 6/8 mil at 3 oz, and 9/14 mil at 6 oz and above. See heavy copper PCB.
Laser microvias
Our smallest laser microvia is 0.075 mm, stacked or staggered, for HDI fan-out under fine-pitch BGAs. See HDI PCB.

Finish, IPC class and size
We offer ENIG, ENEPIG, OSP, HASL and hard gold fingers, build to IPC-6012 Class 2 or 3, and handle boards up to 22.5″ × 48″ (572 × 1219 mm) on our large format line.
FAQ
PCB Capability Check FAQ
Is the capability check a quote?
No. It is a feasibility read based on our published limits. Send your files for a free DFM check or a bare-board quote, returned within 2 hours.
What does “engineering review” mean?
Your board is inside our published limits, but at least one parameter is near the edge. A CAM engineer checks it against the full stack-up before quoting. Upper limits are available for prototypes and engineering builds and confirmed case by case for production.
Why does copper weight change the minimum line and space?
Thicker copper takes longer to etch, and the etch undercuts the sides of each trace. At 3 oz copper our minimum is 6/8 mil; at 6 oz and above it is 9/14 mil.
My board shows “outside our published limits”. What now?
Ask an engineer. A small change, such as a larger drill, wider spacing on heavy copper, or a different stack-up, often brings the board back inside our range.
Where can I see every capability?
The full table is on our PCB manufacturing page, and assembly and inspection limits are on our PCB capabilities page.
